Supporting teachers and staff in supporting their students.

Let’s talk about how a team approach to understanding and fulfilling students’ exceptional needs can benefit your entire school.

Some options for your school

Communication Screenings

Every student is unique and communicates in their own way—but about 1 in 10 children have a communication disorder that can indicate life-long health or learning difficulties. Early detection helps families make choices about how to support learners.

Regular hearing screenings are an important part of a child’s wellness!

Professional Development

When teachers and staff understand how communication challenges impact students and learn strategies to support the communication needs of their learners, the result is a more harmonious learning environment for all students. Marjorie reviews developmental milestones and teaches techniques to support communication.

Response to Intervention (RTI) and Special Education Services

A holistic system, RTI supports all students by identifying and delivering just the right types and intensities of interventions. RTI systems may include support for literacy, communication, motor, psychology, and behavior. Wordshop can help design and implement a team and system that works for your learners and your school.

Treatment & Evaluation

Communication Evaluations include a detailed report and can be done on-campus (at school) or at Wordshop. Treatments and evaluations are available on-campus, at Wordshop or via home visits.

SLP visits on-campus saves families commute time and makes SLP support available to all students easily. Wordshop provides no-cost screenings in exchange for on-site treatment/evaluation space.

Understanding children’s challenging behaviors as maladaptive attempts to communicate unmet needs can help educators design and implement effective, respectful, and equitable interventions.
